At Holt Homes, we have an amazing team that includes our interior designer and our design centers. These trends come directly from our experts and will have you covered from decor to fixtures and finishes. Keep reading to find out what they have to say for the year ahead.

Bring Some Color to Your Cabinets

Okay, white kitchen cabinets may never go out of style, but homeowners are starting to branch out in their cabinet color selections. Think warm neutrals. "Buyers are starting to select Smoke, Mega Greige, and warmer wood tones for kitchen cabinets," according to our Design Center team.

Unique Accent Colors

When your cabinets are neutral, you can be more playful with accent colors to really make your kitchen more visually striking. According to the Design Team, "We are seeing more buyers wanting blue or green tile for their kitchens backsplashes or statement tiles in their bathrooms." It's a balance–something bold and something neutral adds up to a lot of style. Not sure which hue to use? Interior Designer Whitney Hicks says to go green - perhaps even Evergreen Fog, Sherwin-Williams 2022 Color of the Year, and a perfect shade for the PNW. "Incorporate green when you can in paint, textiles, and accessories. An easy way to incorporate green is to use plants!"

Light Wood Tones in Flooring

Scandinavian-inspired flooring is a big trend right now. The light or bleached-looking wood tones really modernize your space and also can make your home feel bigger. You can create this look with many types of flooring such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank which are offered at our design centers. Ask a sales agent to learn more about which material is included in your community.

Spa-Like Bathrooms

While it isn't really a new trend, homebuyers are putting luxury bathrooms higher up on their list of priorities than ever before. A spa-like oasis for much-needed R&R is becoming the next non-negotiable for many. Our Design Team is seeing more buyers opting for full mud-set tile showers and freestanding tubs, which give you that luxury, high-end look.

Trending Toward Traditional

In 2022, we are trading in stark white walls for neutral, beige warm interior paint colors, which deliver a more traditional look. In living rooms, the added glow makes for a upscale and cozy environment. In kitchens, mixing quartz countertops and bold dark finishes such as black subway tiles, the warm walls perfectly complement these varying tones and textures.

Versatile Spaces

Flex spaces have become more important as more of us work, learn and play at home. Holt Homes has many plans with loft options, and extra bedrooms for home offices, study areas, home fitness areas, or playrooms.

Clutter-free Living

Clutter free cabinets

That's the dream, right? To live clutter-free. If Marie Kondo and the Home Edit are some of your best companions of 2021 then you're already ahead of this trend toward simplicity. Your best tool in achieving a clutter-free home is effective storage. All of our plans feature storage spaces with optionality to keep clutter out of eyesight. Pantries, extra cabinets, and spacious walk-in closets work hand-in-hand to make sure you can focus on more important things.
