Only about 20 miles east of Tacoma, it was an unincorporated community until 1949, and still has a rural charm. This is brimming with beautiful parks, hiking trails, and lakes. Allan Yorke Park

Allan Yorke Park is a public park located on the shore of Lake Tapps. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful lakeside view, along with baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, and tennis courts. There’s also a basketball court and skatepark. This park has something for everyone, including BBQ grills and a picnic shelter for fun sunny-weather get-togethers. Whether you’re getting out and playing your favorite sport or just taking a relaxing walk and gazing at beautiful Mount Rainier, Allan Yorke park has everything you need.

Bonney Lake Dog Park

Dog lovers unite! The Bonney Lake dog park, known as Viking Off-Leash dog park is a great spot for your four legged friend to get their zoomies out. This greenspace is a perfect place for your dog to play, exercise and meet friends! With a wooded area and grass fields, it’s also a beautiful outdoor environment for humans to enjoy, too.

The fact that the ground is paved makes this a more accessible trail for some folks with mobility support needs. Meandering down this 3 mile trail, you’ll find meadows, forests and a tranquil creek. Sumalee's Thai Cuisine is a local Thai eatery that uses delicious local ingredients and traditional Thai recipes. Specialties include Spicy Pork Belly and Pineapple Curry.

Rainier Valley Coffee Co is known for its fun flavor combinations such as the salted caramel and macadamia nut iced coffee or the white chocolate coconut and vanilla. Here in the Pacific Northwest we love our coffee, and this spot is Bonney Lake’s favorite.

Seasonal Events

Bonney Lake Farmers Market-There’s truly nothing better than a farmers market. Local organic produce, flowers, delicious food and handmade crafts brighten up everyone's day. The Bonney Lake Farmers Market is every Wednesday from 5-8pm all summer long, from June until August. This happens at Allan Yorke Park, with a beautiful view of Lake Tapps. One of the best parts of this Wednesday evening event is the local live music performances which take place in almost every market, as a part of “Tunes at Tapps”. 

Community Summer Fest- Summer Fest takes place at Kelley Farm Fields and features live music, women owned business, food trucks and lots of fun outdoor activities for the whole family! The next events are scheduled for August 3 and October 5, 2024. 

Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire - Every year folks gather in their best fantastical costumes to eat mutton, drink mead and be merry! The Renaissance Faire takes place every three weeks in August at Kelley Farm. Visitors can watch jousting tournaments, ale houses, puppet shows, and live performances that transport you back to the ye olde days.
