There are endless possibilities for every room. Something as simple as picking the right rug can be a challenge unless you have the eye of an interior designer. So we enlisted the help of our friends from the Street of Dreams to help our homeowners with tips for getting started. Don't skimp on quality. Choose a rug that is made from quality materials built to last. Fibers such as wool are natural and clean up well extending the lifespan of your rug. Quality rugs that are maintained can become a legacy as they are passed down from generation to generation. 2. Consider your lifestyle. Do you have pets, kids, or love hosting gatherings? Your lifestyle should be a part of your rug shopping decision. If your rug will see heavy traffic then you need a rug that is durable to withstand what happens on or to it. A rug that is darker in color will help hide the everyday traffic. Avoid synthetic rugs and shag rugs. Synthetic materials stain easily and are more difficult to clean than rugs made from quality materials such as wool.
